RBGC Lightning Policy

Golfers are reminded that according to Rule 5-7a, players may discontinue play without penalty when they believe lightning is dangerous.

• A klaxon will only be sounded to suspend a competition

• If you believe lightning is dangerous during your round, you should suspend play immediately.

• Depending on the storm's severity, you should either shelter on the course as best as possible or make your way back to the clubhouse in the event of a severe storm.

For your safety, please note the following:

• Do not use your umbrella

• Return all clubs to your bag

• If possible, lay your bag (and trolley) on the floor

• Stand well clear of your bag

• If returning to the clubhouse, leave your clubs on the course
